Jordan Christian LeVan is a disability, mental health, and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) advocate who resides in Greensboro, North Carolina. Jordan received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, emphasizing mental health studies, with a minor in General Biology. In addition, he has an associate’s degree in Orton-Gillingham Instruction from the Orton-Gillingham Academy. Jordan has been practicing school advocacy since 2020, and he has worked across the USA with families. He takes a whole-student approach, focusing on the full disability profile of each student, ensuring all of their needs are met. As a person with multiple disabilities who has had an IEP & 504, Jordan knows each student is capable of learning; it’s a matter of meeting the student’s unique learning needs.
Mikayla has been a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in Michigan since 2014 and now is an IEP Advocate for Fighting For My Voice LLC. Over the years, Mikayla has obtained a variety of experience in multiple educational and medical settings, including clinical and management roles. Mikayla was a director of rehabilitation for 6 years in a skilled nursing facility, as well as a director on a subacute trach and ventilator unit where her primary role outside of management was to assess individuals for speaking valves and to provide dysphagia intervention to allow patients with feeding tubes to eat again. Mikayla now primarily works with children with disabilities, and considers herself to be a client-led, neurodiversity affirming therapist who specializes in childhood apraxia of speech, gestalt language processing, AAC, and dysphagia. Mikayla is passionate about supporting families through the advocacy process, in order to ensure their children receive high quality therapy from knowledgeable SLPs.
Courtney Burnett is a Disability Advocate, IEP Advocate, Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant, and a mom of a child with disabilities. I am a board-certified special education advocate. I grew up on an IEP for my own learning disability, I also have a non-speaking child who is twenty years old. I became an advocate to help my daughter and other children like her have equal access to their education and community. In 2019 I helped pass a universal changing table bill into law. I know the power of being a parent advocate. I want to help you understand special education to ensure your child’s have access to a meaningful education that prepares them for their future.
Carrie Salz-Iori is an Non-attorney Special Education Advocate. She started her journey as an elementary school teacher in an ICT classroom. She is a certified advocate under the COPAA, and she has completed coursework under the advocate Amy Trail, FACES. She completed a year internship with Jordan LeVan and is excited to now be part of the LLC. She considers it a privilege to support parents and help children get the special education services they need.
