I Grew up Too Fast.
“Maybe I had to grow up too fast, from the speech troubles in my past. While other kids were playing and joyful, I could be found in the corner labeled as antisocial. My speech therapists would say I was bright as a daisy, while other teachers would mark my speech off as being lazy. I really wanted to be social, but for me, it wasn’t that easy. It was staying in speech therapy rooms until my eyes were dreary. It was running through thorns and disaster, to arrive at a place of peace coming home from the battle. So for me, no, it wasn’t that easy. But at least now, you can really see me.”
