A letter:
Some would say it’s cruel always to understand, but not always to be understood. Being not always understood is frustrating, makes us question our abilities, and of course, can hurt our feelings. It’s natural and its humans. If you’re a boy and your reading this, it’s okay if things do hurt your feelings. Don’t let anybody not validate those emotions for you.
The Questions You may Have:
With not being understood, you can think you’re not enough. Because realistically, we compare ourselves to people every day. We may ask:
Why don’t they have trouble speaking, but I do?
Why do I have to struggle?
And the most honest answer is I don’t know. If you’re a person of religion, some say God puts this on your life to teach others. If you’re not a person of faith, sometimes things indeed just do happen. But it’s up to us about what we’re going to do about it and handle it.
You are Enough.
Just because you have Apraxia doesn’t mean you’re not enough. You are enough. You are more than enough. You have never not been enough, and whatever your brain tells you differently is wrong.
Never doubt your abilities and where you’ll go. You have enough to get where you need to go. Along your journey you’ll become more understanding and compassionate, and those are things you can offer out to the world. Simply by existing and being a nice person as of now, I would argue you’re doing better than half of our population.
You are enough, and you belong to be here. The day you realize that, is the day you’ll feel most settled and at ease.
